Jack Osbourne has welcomed a baby girl as his wife, Aree, gave birth, and the couple named their newborn daughter after the late rock star Ozzy Osbourne in a heartfelt tribute

Jack Osbourne and his wife Aree have welcomed a baby girl — and the couple chose a deeply meaningful name to honour Jack’s late father, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne.

The proud parents shared the joyful news on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a touching black-and-white photo of their newborn alongside a small card reading “Hello world,” confirming the little girl arrived on March 5.

Jack revealed her name in a heartfelt caption: “Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne.” The touching choice was a clear tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman, whose death last year left fans and family devastated.

The 40-year-old TV personality also took to his Instagram Stories shortly after, gushing over the new arrival with a simple message: “She’s arrived and she’s perfect.” Within minutes, friends, fans and celebrities flooded the comments with congratulations for the growing Osbourne family.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025 — just 17 days after delivering a farewell performance with Black Sabbath in England. The emotional concert had drawn the entire Osbourne family from Los Angeles back to Birmingham, the city where Ozzy’s extraordinary journey began.

Jack and Aree had first revealed they were expecting their second child together in December, shortly after Jack appeared on I’m A Celebrity…. The couple are already parents to their three-year-old daughter Maple.

The new baby also marks another milestone for Jack, who is now a father of five. From his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly — whom he was married to from 2012 to 2019 — he shares three daughters: Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, and Minnie, seven.

Speaking previously about the pregnancy, Jack admitted the timing had come slightly sooner than expected — but said the couple were thrilled.

“We’re super excited,” he told The Sun. “It was sort of planned, I should say. It was maybe a little earlier than expected. But it’s definitely something that we were wanting to pursue and somehow it happened, miraculously.”

The podcaster also revealed that preparing for the baby had helped him cope with the grief of losing his father.

“I think it’s been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing — probably in that kind of ‘full cycle’ category, in a weird way,” he explained. “It’s very much taken energy out of the grieving side of things and parked in a bit more hopefulness.”

The birth comes just days after Jack opened up about Ozzy’s final weeks in an emotional podcast appearance. Reflecting on the night after Black Sabbath’s farewell show, he recalled a moment with his father that now carries a poignant meaning.

Jack remembered tucking Ozzy into bed before returning to Los Angeles when the rock icon looked at himself in the mirror and quietly said: “I think I’m going to cut my hair off.”

When Jack asked why, Ozzy simply replied: “I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore.”

Looking back, Jack believes the moment revealed that his father had come to peace with the end of his journey. “Yeah, he was done. He was okay with his journey,” he reflected.

Despite Ozzy’s declining health, his death still came as a shock to the family.

“Obviously everyone knew he was sick… but we weren’t expecting it to be as quick as it was,” Jack admitted. “He was up, he was doing his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it.”

The Osbourne family recently paid tribute to the rock legend once again at the BRIT Awards. Ozzy was posthumously honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award, accepted on stage by his wife Sharon and daughter Kelly.

Introducing the tribute, Dolly Parton appeared in a pre-recorded message before Robbie Williams performed with members of Ozzy’s band.

Holding back emotion, Sharon told the audience: “I’m honoured to accept this award from my gorgeous husband… God knows, I wish he was here to accept it himself.”

She affectionately described Ozzy as “the most humble egomaniac you could ever meet,” as daughter Kelly stood proudly beside her — a powerful reminder that even after his passing, the Prince of Darkness continues to leave an unforgettable legacy.

And now, with the arrival of baby Ozzy Matilda, that legacy lives on in the next generation of the Osbourne family.
