Lorraine Kelly said, “I cried all the way home”, as she made a heartfelt admission. During Tuesday’s (September 2) episode of ITV’s Lorraine, the 65-year-old host spoke to Harriet Kemsley and Paul Brand about the day’s topical news stories
They discussed politicians returning to Parliament after their summer break, viral holiday photos and Emily Atack opening up about being sexually assaulted throughout her career.
Talk soon turned to the start of the new school year, as thousands of children are set to return to the classroom after the summer holiday.
“That will bring relief for a lot of parents and grandparents,” Paul said, with Lorraine adding that she’d happily spend 24 hours with her own granddaughter, Billie.

Paul then admitted that he feels “emotional” as his son will mark his first day at school today.
“He’s doing the one hour at a time for a few days so I’m rushing back after this to try and get him all sorted in his uniform, making sure he’s okay,” he shared.
“He’s mega excited, it’s me that feels emotional about it. He couldn’t be more happy to go.”
Lorraine then revealed that she “cried all the way home” when her daughter, Rosie, first went to school when she was younger.
Harriet then shared her experience with her young daughter, saying, “She’s had a few weeks off nursery, so she goes back tomorrow. It’s so lovely but also it’s chaos because you’re working and trying to look after them.

“I love being with her more than anything but I always feel like getting ready to leave the house is like James Bond when a villain is trying to stop him when he’s trying to achieve something.”
Lorraine concluded: “It’s an achievement getting out the house without toast in your hair and sick down your back, you’ve done a good thing.”
This comes after Lorraine celebrated her granddaughter Billie’s first birthday at the weekend. The family marked the occassion with an animal themed party.
“It was so lovely. We had a small affair on Saturday with all our family… It was absolutely lovely, just perfect,” Lorraine said on Monday.
