Saturday 8th November. Between 1.30am to 5am the car, a 2012 black Toyota Hilux with Queensland registration 653SLY was stolen.
Monday 17th November 2pm – 4pm, a member of the public found the stolen Hilux parked on Amelia Street in Fortitude Valley, QLD.
Detectives are now reviewing vision from the Wynnum area and analysing forensic evidence from the recovered vehicle. These details may help answer how long Arnie was inside and what exactly led to his death.
Authorities are also trying to establish any route that was taken to Amelia St, so please check your dash cam and any CCTV footage near stated date.

Arnie had on occasions slept in the back of the ute / canopy. This had been done previously as the family are keen campers. They were also visiting friends who had dogs that were a little unfriendly. The canopy was set up for Arnie.
Arnie’s owners have stated that Arnie would not have barked if someone started the car as he would have believed it was his owner. If Arnie was lying quietly in the back canopy he may not have been seen, especially in the dark.
If you were in or around Amelia St leading up to the date / on the date please check CCTV, dash cam, business surveillance or if you remember seeing something please contact police, no matter how small detail you think it is. Authorities are trying to establish any route that was taken to Amelia St.
