Now we can reveal a secret family crisis led Jimmy, 47, to give up and quit – despite knowing he would seemingly take Adam down with him.

In dramatic scenes that air tonight, Jimmy bailed during a brutal Bushtucker trial while paired with Waterloo Road star Adam, who angrily yelled “Are you taking the f***ing piss?”

An insider told The Sun: “Jimmy was ready to go home.

“He was desperate to get back to the UK as he was facing a family crisis.

“Jimmy knew he’d done what he went in there to do and was happy to take the money and run.

“His dad was struggling with his health before he flew out and when there was the chance to pack it in, he took it.”

However, a twist in the gruelling Bushtucker Trial meant if one person in the pairs quit – both would be sent home.

It led to furious Adam kicking off in a rage that’s set to shock viewers.

In a preview for tonight’s show, Jimmy is seen struggling as he admits: “Boys, I don’t think I have it in me. I’m so sorry. I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. I’m so sorry, son.”

Adam says: “You’re joking me bro. Jim, come on man.

“Jim, don’t do this bro.”

Jimmy doubles down, insisting: “I’ve had enough, sorry boys and girls.”

However, rather than getting sympathy from his teammate Adam – Jimmy was angrily confronted on-screen.”

“You f***ing taking the piss?,” said Adam.

“Are you taking the piss?”

Jimmy calmly replied: “Everyone’s got their own story.”

But Adam stormed off shouting about being “covered in f***ing ants”.

Stunned Jimmy said: “Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down. That’s pathetic.”

It is not known whether Jimmy had previously opened up about his sick father to campmates.

After the spat, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly inform the celebrities that the trial is suspended and they must exit the area.

Jimmy and Adam continue their heated discussion, while the rest of the campmates watch on.

ITV have confirmed the disagreement leads the other campmates to make an important decision, which affects one person’s fate in camp.

We first revealed their explosive row last year, which ended their friendship.

It now threatens to derail the I’m A Celebrity All Stars live final.

Despite desperate moves by production to end the feud, the pair are still not on speaking terms – and Jimmy is not expected to attend.
