Grieving family ‘have each other’ after deaths of Scarlett & Jason Faulkner as relatives in fake fundraising pages pleas

THE family of Scarlett and Jason Faulkner have issued a warning over scam fundraising pages set up online in the wake of their deaths.

The Limerick sister and brother died a week apart and their family has now posted a video on social media warning people not to be duped by the fake pages asking for funds to cover funeral costs.

Ms Faulkner’s brother Jason, 30s, who had been a pallbearer at her funeral mass, died tragically two days later on Sunday April 19.

Sisters Aisling Duffy, and Joanne (Josephine) Duffy, who is the partner of Scarlett’s and Jason’s brother Thomas Faulkner, said on social media that the scam pages are asking people to make a financial donation to the Faulkner family.

Aisling, a well-known social media influencer who posts online content under the name Aisling Unfiltered, said: “Be very careful, there is GoFundMe pages that have been sent from my page and Joanne’s page and these pages are fake.

“The Faulkner family will be funding all their own funerals, they would never ask for any donations and never ask for any GoFundMe (pages).

“We just want to let ye know that, for Joanne and myself, there are fakes pages made, and we would never text ye or ask for any funds, nothing like that.”

Joanne Duffy said the Faulkner family were a “big family and they all have each other”.

Aisling added: “They are going to support each other, they are going to be there for each other and they’re going to be funding the funeral themselves.”

Joanne Duffy shared photos of Jason Faulkner on her TikTok account and stated: “Rip brother in law Jason I have no words.”

More relatives and friends of the Faulkner family shared messages on social media of their shock and sorrow at hearing of Jason’s death.

One of the many posts online stated: “Why god? Life is so cruel and shocking, Jason cousin, ur back with ur sister Scarlett, we will all love and miss ye forever, our hearts are in bits.”
