Kerry Katona was whisked off to hospital after believing she was suffering from a stroke while she was in London watching her eldest daughter Molly perform in a new play. She began to feel unwell during the show, but afterwards noticed she wasnât able to smile properly, which is a core warning sign of a stroke. Kerry had noticed her face âwasnât rightâ while she was in the toilet, with her daughter Heidi asking her as well, prompting Kerry to panic and leave discreetly to go to her hotel and told the staff âsomethingâs not rightâ.
She jumped in a taxi to St Thomasâ Hospital and when she arrived they told her they were treating it as a stroke and she was put in an ambulance with the blue lights to take her to Kingâs College Hospital. Her face and speech were appearing to worsen while lights were being shone in her eyes on the way to the hospital.

She told The Mirror: âAn hour ago I was watching our Molly in a play and now Iâm being treated for a stroke. What the actual f**k? It just shows how quickly things can change.â She sent messages to all of her children having feared she may never speak to them again, with Kerry admitting âit really, really scared meâ.
However, while it was a suspected stroke, it was ruled out after her scans and instead, the CT showed there was a part of her brain that was unable to send signals to her face due to stress. She said: âIâve spoken to Anna Williamson from Celebs Go Dating about it since, and apparently it can also happen when youâre feeling content.â
Kerry explained that she noticed her speech doesnât always sound right out loud.
She explained that she was unable to pinpoint exactly what could have triggered it, but said that she was feeling worn out, adding: ââI donât know if itâs because Iâm run down from balancing family life, but I donât have a social life. I donât go out drinking. I donât socialise with anybody outside of my circle, which is Paolo and my kids.â
Sheâs yet to have any follow-up checks because of her busy life, but she said that as soon as she returns from holiday her focus will be to try and get her speech and face sorted. Itâs just the latest in Kerryâs health battles, having shared the news of her miscarriages after falling pregnant in 2025, and being rushed to hospital in January this year with colitis.
